ZLATÉ NOŽNICE – a contest for hairstylists and make-up artists that was founded in 2015 by the famous hairdresser Polat Elalmis. He was inspired by the international competition OMC HAIRWORLD in Paris, where he himself competed and won a title for Slovakia.

The ZLATÉ NOŽNICE competition is primarily aimed at students attending secondary vocational schools, but there is also a category for adult participants.

You can compete in three hair-styling categories: trendy cut, classic men’s hairstyle or wedding hairstyle. There is also one category for make-up artists, which has a different topic each year. When assessing the competitors, the jury places an emphasis on safety at work, performance technique, cutting, overall creativity and final styling.

The competitors are assessed by an expert committee formed of professional hairstylists and make-up artists, according to the international criteria from the OMC (Organisation Mondiale de la Coiffure). This organisation has been setting worldwide trends in hairstyling and make-up since 1946, and has members in more than 50 countries throughout the world.
